Sustainable Profit Growth
As Chair of the Department of Pediatrics and Human Development at Michigan State University, Dr. Dele Davies revitalized high-quality but poorly performing (business) clinical laboratories (prenatal screening/AFP, DNA Diagnostic cytogenetics) that were chronically losing revenue by implementing six-sigma and lean processes.
This resulted in generating net profits of ~$300,000 to $500,000 annually from these clinics and overall clinical revenues increased more than 65% during his tenure.
During the same period, overall general fund (state supported) revenues decreased year to year due to annual cuts to the budget.
